Basic Life Saver (AR-BLS)

Build the confidence to recognize a life-threatening emergency, call for help, and begin practical care before professional responders arrive.

Basic Life Saver (AR-BLS) is a four-hour practical beginner course for non-medical participants. It covers scene safety, emergency recognition and activation, adult, child and infant CPR, safe AED use, choking response, the recovery position, and introductory bleeding control using direct pressure and a basic dressing.

The course is delivered as one practical session. Maximum capacity is 12 participants with the required instructor or assessor coverage. There is no prerequisite; recommended age is 16+.

Full attendance is mandatory. Assessment uses supervised practical skill checks, embedded oral knowledge checks, and an integrated individual scenario. There is no separate written final examination. Participants act only within their training, organisational role, and local emergency arrangements; the course does not authorise diagnosis, medication administration, invasive care, wound packing, or tourniquet use.
