Medical First Aid & Vital Signs - Level 1 (AR-MFV1)

A practical introductory course that helps non-medical participants assess an ill or unresponsive person, recognize urgent medical warning signs, obtain and record basic vital signs with appropriate equipment, provide first aid within their level of training, and communicate useful findings to EMS or healthcare personnel.

One practical four-hour session for a maximum of 12 participants. Recommended age 16+. No specialist background is required. Delivery includes controlled practical use of approved equipment and remains subject to infection control, sharps disposal, consent, suitable instructor or assessor coverage, and supervised participation.

Readings support recognition, monitoring, escalation, and handover but do not by themselves establish a diagnosis. The course does not authorise insulin administration, prescription medication, invasive treatment beyond the specifically approved capillary blood-glucose skill, or care beyond the participant’s approved training and organisational role.
