Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of AR-FEX, candidates will be able to: – Classify fires by fuel type (Class A, B, C, F, and electrical) and select the correct extinguisher – Identify and inspect portable extinguishers using the PASS check and maintenance records – Safely operate a dry powder extinguisher on a Class A and Class B fire – Safely operate a CO2 extinguisher on an electrical and Class B fire – Deploy water mist and foam extinguishers on Class A and Class F fires – Apply the PASS technique (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep) correctly under simulated conditions – Recognise when a fire is beyond extinguisher control and execute immediate evacuation – Complete post-incident documentation and report extinguisher use to the responsible person

Assessment
Written Examination — 25 multiple-choice questions, closed book, 25 minutes. Consequently, candidates must achieve a minimum of 80% to pass. Practical Assessment — 2 live-fire practical stations: correct extinguisher selection and successful operation. Both stations must be passed.
Prerequisite
AwareReach recommends AR-FSA (Fire Safety Awareness) as preparation. Nevertheless, there is no formal prerequisite for corporate group bookings.
Certification
Successful candidates receive the AR-FEX — Fire Extinguisher Operator Certificate, issued under the AwareReach Certification Authority. In addition, the certificate remains valid for 2 years from date of issue. Overall, this fire extinguisher training in Lebanon follows international fire safety standards established by the NFPA.
