Advanced First Responder Training in Lebanon — About This Course

First and foremost, the AR-AFR (Advanced First Responder) is the AwareReach flagship first aid and emergency response certification. AwareReach designs this advanced first responder training in Lebanon to prepare candidates to function as highly skilled responders capable of managing the full spectrum of medical and trauma emergencies.

Additionally, the programme is delivered across ten intensive days, integrating advanced clinical theory with extensive practical training across twelve specialist modules. Furthermore, candidates develop competence in advanced airway management, cardiac care, complex trauma, paediatric and obstetric emergencies, and disaster medicine.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of AR-AFR, candidates will be able to:

– Perform advanced patient assessment including secondary survey, vital signs, and GCS monitoring
– Manage complex airways including suction, airway adjuncts, and ventilation techniques
– Apply advanced haemorrhage control including haemostatic dressings, wound packing, and junctional control
– Perform advanced cardiac monitoring, CPR with adjuncts, and post-resuscitation care
– Recognise and manage thoracic trauma including tension pneumothorax and haemothorax
– Assess and treat complex musculoskeletal and abdominal trauma
– Manage paediatric medical and trauma emergencies across all age groups
– Recognise and respond to obstetric emergencies including delivery complications
– Treat environmental emergencies including heatstroke, hypothermia, and drowning
– Lead and coordinate mass-casualty response and disaster medical operations

– Module 1: Advanced Patient Assessment and Monitoring (6h)
– Module 2: Advanced Airway Management and Mechanical Ventilation (8h)
– Module 3: Advanced Haemorrhage Control and Blood Volume Management (8h)
– Module 4: Cardiac Emergencies, Advanced CPR, and Post-Resuscitation Care (8h)
– Module 5: Neurological Emergencies and Altered Mental Status (6h)
– Module 6: Thoracic and Abdominal Trauma (8h)
– Module 7: Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic Emergencies (6h)
– Module 8: Paediatric and Obstetric Emergencies (6h)
– Module 9: Environmental and Toxicological Emergencies (6h)
– Module 10: Mass Casualty and Disaster Medical Response (8h)
– Module 11: Written Examination (2h)
– Module 12: Comprehensive Practical Assessment (8h)

Assessment

Written Examination — 80 multiple-choice questions, closed book, 90 minutes. Consequently, candidates must achieve a minimum of 80% to pass.

Practical Assessment — Comprehensive examination including 8 mandatory clinical stations and a full mass-casualty scenario assessment. All components must be passed.

Prerequisite

AwareReach requires a valid AR-ERO (Emergency Response Officer) certification for enrolment. Additionally, candidates must hold a minimum of 1 year of documented emergency response experience.

Certification

Successful candidates receive the AR-AFR — Advanced First Responder Certificate of Competence, issued under the AwareReach Certification Authority. In addition, the certificate remains valid for 2 years from date of issue. Overall, this advanced first responder training in Lebanon follows international resuscitation guidelines established by ILCOR.
