Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of AR-FFO, candidates will be able to:

– Respond to hazardous materials fires applying HAZCHEM identification and defensive tactics
– Implement structural firefighting procedures for high-rise, confined space, and industrial fires
– Conduct fire cause investigation and preserve evidence for post-incident analysis
– Coordinate the fire response with Civil Defence, fire brigade, and emergency services

– Module 2: Structural Firefighting Principles and Entry Procedures (6h)

– Module 7: Fire Investigation and Evidence Preservation (4h)
– Module 8: Written Examination (2h)
– Module 9: Practical Scenario Assessment (6h)

Assessment

Written Examination — 70 multiple-choice questions, closed book, 90 minutes. Consequently, candidates must achieve a minimum of 80% to pass.

Practical Assessment — Multi-stage assessment including suppression system operation and a full incident command scenario. All components must be passed.

Prerequisite

AwareReach requires a valid AR-FWM (Fire Warden / Marshal) certification for enrolment. Additionally, a minimum of 6 months of documented fire safety experience is strongly recommended.

Certification

Successful candidates receive the AR-FFO — Advanced Fire Fighting Officer Certificate of Competence, issued under the AwareReach Certification Authority. In addition, the certificate remains valid for 2 years from date of issue.
